Marines disrupt Peace Rally in Tucson

Seven Marines marched into the the peace rally at about 7:30 PM. One Marine had a bullhorn and was yelling "It's time for you communists to go home and watch CNN." and other insults as they marched west on Congress. They stomped into the crowd of peace activists waving American flags and yelling. They went behind the Food Not Bombs table and the Marine with the bullhorn stood on the edge of the fountain yelling above Keith McHenry's head from a couple of feet behind him. Keith stood up and backed away from the table and the Marine also backed up and fell into the fountain, dropping his bullhorn into the water. The Marine was very angry and ran to the police demanding Keith be arrested. The police did arrest Keith and charged him with assault and criminal damage.
His first court date is Tuesday, April 1, 2003.

To the dumbfuck(s) who have been posting thinly veiled threats to the local activist community: Every time you post, your IP address is logged. Hope you can take a hint.

to all america bashers
by Jeffrey E. Saturday, May. 10, 2003 at 7:38 PM

Why do you hate our country so much that you complain of these things? what we are doing over there in Iraq is a noble thing and is in the name of peace its like Saint Augistine said " the goal of all war it ultimately peace." this is true. we are trying to achieve a just peace. there will be casualties like this in every war no matter what that is the way it is but the steps we have taken for this not to occur are unprecedented. our government has spent millions if not billions on making our bombs precision guided. look at ank clip from world war two they were dropped freely. Now days we usually hit what we aim at and rarely miss. look at the number of civilian casualties from world war two and then look at the list from operation Iraqi Freedom. you will see a major difference. and one more thing this is one little girl of a few who were sadly and unfortunately hit by one of our bombs but let me ask you this; how many men, women, and children do you think Saddam left looking like this or worse? thats right countless. he has maimed, raped, stolen, murdered, starved, tortured, and deprived his people for two decades of terror and you are complaining about one civilian casualty in an act to liberate these oppressed people. If any of you more liberal types have a probem believeing what im saying please take look at http://www.bloodyfriday.com that'll end any doubt you ever had who is the good guy in this war. Every day American soldiers who I consider the greatest people to ever live are giving their lives to liberate and protect these people they do not even know or have ever met, can you think of a more selfless act than this? I cannot even the bible say there is no greater love that a brother who would die for his fellow man. I think what happened to this little girl is horrible and everyone does bt let me ask you what is the difference between her and the maimed american soldier dying in the hot sand with his intestines in his hands screaming for his mother and this little girl. i'll tell you there is a difference, one was unfortunately there when it happened and the other the american soldier chose to be there when it happened and you know what he did it for people like that little girl and im sure he'd do it again. so please if you are saying you are compassionate people by putting that picture of that little girl up i expect you to also be compassionate to the many soldiers who consider it their duty put their life on the line everyday forpeople they do not know. one last question a; along with shoeing you compassion for the little girl because you are so compassionate i expect to see the picture of the soldier dying for her next to her on you web sight here. you ask how i feel about that well there you have it.

hippies

War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; (but) the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

there are things more important than any man, or any group of men. Im joining the corps in about a year and the only reason you hippies can say what you like is because of the violence of the revolutionary war...should we have fed the english into leaving us alone???
