And They're So Grass Roots

Rumor has it that the hordes turning out to support Kerry's health plan numbered well over a dozen!

Yay! Kerry's amazing health care plan! I heard him say on the radio that he was finally standing up to make health care in America "more affordable." Wow! There's something to get excited about: "more affordable". That's like when I go to Filliberto's and they accidentally give me some sour cream on my burrito. Well, that's all nice, but it's the burrito I'm most concerned about. I guess Kerry doesn't get it since he's on the Heinz Ketchup health care plan. You know, the one you get on by having a bunch of workers to exploit until your wife is worth 500 million dollars and then you can afford any health care you want. John Kerry: Man of the People!

Corporate Welfare isn't Healthcare
by Not a Republicrat Thursday, Jun. 24, 2004 at 11:45 AM

Have a close look at Kerry's "Health Care Reform" and figure out, point by point, which of his proposals DON'T involve throwing money at insurers and other big businesses.

Kerry is a shameless, simpering corporate whore. His "jobs" program is to close a tax loophole- and cut corporate taxes another 5% so they don't feel the pain. His healthcare reform is to use your tax dollars to subsidize the insurance industry and employer-based health plans, with some wicked ugly tort reform weaseled in there also as a kiss to both the malpractice insurers and the AMA.

Fuck John Kerry- he's as bad as the Republicans!

There will be HUGE backlash for your dirty tricks, namely people like me will never vote Democrat again because this is illegal immoral and reeks of ugly right wing tactics. You guys really shoot below the belt and are an embaressment to the rest of us , you will encourage many people not to vote, or even worse, to vote for Bush as a retaliation. This is foul play and is not what the Democratic party originally stood for, although your corporate pro-war, most highly lobbied senator may applaud you.

What you are doing will only strengthen the Nader campaign, the David Cobb and libertarian campaigns. I registered Dem this year only to vote for Dennis, who
has enough guts to stand up to the Administration (unlike Kerry), is anti-war, anti-WTO wants education and healthcare for everybody. Give me a candiadte like Dennis and I'll vote Dem again.

You are afraid of the process for which your party is named!! How ironic is that?

You seem to forget that
1) Bush was selected in a judiciary coup
2) There was WIDESPREAD fraud in the last election
3) If you think that was bad there will be even MORE this year with electronic voting. Wake up!
4) Too many African American votes are not counted, investigative reporter Greg Palast thinks up to a million votes were left un-counted in 2000.

Have fun with your games, but there will be a BIG price to pay.

No, You're an Illiterate
by Bob Sunday, Jun. 27, 2004 at 3:01 AM

The statute upon which the Dems are likely basing their case states in pertinent part that "no person other than a person who is qualified to register to vote pursuant to section 16-101 may circulate an initiative or referendum petition and all signatures verified by any such person shall be void and shall not be counted in determining the legal sufficiency of the petition."

The rights of a felon to vote in Arizona are automaticallly restored upon completion of any probation or parole, unless the felon has two or more felony convictions, in which case the felon must make application to the court to have his/her voting rights restored.

So, it is not necessarily a problem for ex-felons to circulate petitions in this state, so long as their voting rights have been restored.

Additionally, it is the firm circulating the petitions which would be logically responsible for verifying the qualifications of the persons doing the circulating. Nader cannot reasonably be held responsible for the firm's failure to screen their employees appropriately.

"Your Nader is a fraud and used illegal tactics to try and get on Arizona's ballot and now you have the audacity to bitch about it?"

Hmmm... anyone remember the civil rights struggle? Those tactics were illegal, too. Are you coming out against that struggle, then? Cuz, it turns out that operating outside the system is how we change (or destroy) the system. And, it also turns out that the law is not the best barometer of what is right and wrong. If we take this idiot's argument to its logical conclusion then we're left not being able to critique or act against the system at all. By definition the system itself is legal, and therefore perfect. So what is the point of political action, then? You dems are so fucking stupid and opportunistic. I feel so bad for you, because you're all so naive. And I also feel scared because you all have so much power. Smash the parties! Smash the State!
