BRS, whom some of you know, arrested at RNC with serious charges

BRS, a local Tucson activist, has been arrested on very serious charges at the RNC. BRS is facing 5 felonies in addition to two lesser charges, all of which are completely bogus. BRS was near a puppet when it was lit on fire in front of Madison Square Garden on Sunday by unknown persons (reports from near the area state that it was in actually agent provocatuers: NYC IMC). BRS has assured me that s/he is ok, except for being held for long stretches in solitary confinement and being subject to mental isolation and abuse, much of it homophobic threats. Also, s/he assured me of their innocence, and as they are one of my best friends, i'm inclined to believe.

The arraignment was scheduled for 5 pm eastern time monday, but it is now 7 eastern and nothing has happened. The procecuters are going to ask for 250,000 bond, but the judges have been lowering amounts significantly from other asked bonds. As soon as the arraignment happens, i will add more details, but for the time being BRS requests that all their info be witheld until the arrainment becomes public record.

Please email if you can help in any way, and we will probably be putting on a benefit of some type later this week to try to raise the 10% of bond neccesary to get BRS out of jail.
