Arizona Indymedia to set up an IMC newsroom & hold skill shares during the debates
AZ indymedia activists will be setting up an Independent Media Center in Tempe for independent journalists to cover events around the presidential debates.
Where: Gentle Strength Coop, 234 W. University
When: Oct 12 & 13
What: The IMC newsroom will have several computers available for independent journalists to use to create and upload stories, photos, audio and video.
Schedule:
Tuesday, Oct 12: open from noon to midnight
· 3:00 pm: teach-in - "Being an Independet Journalist" - 1 hour class on interviewing skills, news writing and journalism ethics.
· 9:00 pm: skill-share - Come in and meet other indymedia activists. Ask us any questions, from the birth and goals of indymedia to how to use Photoshop.
Wednesday, Oct 12: open from 10:00 am to midnight
· 11:00 am: teach-in - "Being an Independent Journalist" - see above

Can I help? Of course! We need a few more computers, so if you have one you can lend us for the 2 days, please contact walt ( walt (at) 218style . com ) We also welcome anyone to volunteer and staff the IMC and help people with their computer questions.
