Video of the Joe Six Pack Party protest (Quicktime format; 1 min 13 sec)

QuickTime movie at 27.9 mebibytes

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano (D) and Sen. John McCain (R) held a private party at the Mission Palms hotel in Tempe after the presidential debate. "Joe Six Pack" was explicitly NOT invited, so after the main march on Wednesday was over, activists dressed up with t-shirts and name tags reading "Joe Six Pack" and marched to the hotel. The protesters carried a large cardboard wedding cake, with George Bush and John Kerry as bride and groom on top. The side of the cake read "Let them eat cake". When the crowd arrived at the hotel, security appeared rather lax, but as soon as a few protesters got near the door of the hotel, a group of bicycle cops showed up with cans of pepper spray, and threatened to use them. The protesters backed off. Video begins at this point. The favorite cheer of the night was "We're Joe Six Pack, here to take the country back!" Also, when some horse cops showed up, protesters yelled, "Get those animals of those horses!" After a few minutes, the protesters departed, having accomplished their mission to deliver the cake.
