Earth First! group forming in Prescott

Some people are interested in starting an Earth First! group in Prescott and want to find out how many others would also be interested. This meeting will be held here at The Catalyst on Thurs. Feb.10th at 6:00pm.

Also, there will be a discussion of the events leading to the federal indictment of 2 arizonians who participated in the sabotage of mountain lion hunts in Sabino Canyon, near Tucson. One of these participants, Matt, is a local resident of Prescott and may be needing jail support in the near future. Preparation for this scenario is needed – it’s important that Matt knows that people in Prescott support him and his actions. It’s also important to figure how to spread awareness about the mountain lion hunts here in Arizona.

At this meeting coordinating will occur for a Prescott group to travel to the annual Earth First! Organizers Conference in Tucson Feb.18-21. This conference is open to all people interested in becoming more involved with Earth First! This is a great way to find out about various direct action strategies and upcoming campaigns across the country.
