May Day 2006! GENERAL STRIKE! Solidarity with migrant and workers struggle!
Valley anarchists, come out tomorrow to support workers and migrants fighting against the rising tide of racism! Monday, May 1, is the day of the general strike, migrant and working class Latinos around the country have said enough is enough after years of abuse from state authorities, racist US citizens, and law-enforcement agencies. The latest attack on workers comes from the usual suspects- the rich, and their pals in government, but they're not alone in their class war against the poor. Now, they have the vigilante ally, the Minuteman Project, the Border Guardians, and hundreds of armed citizens willing to guard the border or hit the streets to threaten the lives of working class Latinos, all under the guise of obeying the law and defending order. We know this is a convenient lie that works to their advantage, but we also know that working people have got to stick together if we ever want a better life. We've got to confront the vigilantes, the cops, and the bosses and politicians, and stand together as a class, otherwise they'll continue to play workers against each other, laughing all the way to the bank. Come out Monday, May 1. Take a stand against the racist class war, and stand up in solidarity with the Latino general strike, call in sick to work/school and let's take to the streets with freedom on our minds and a fist in the air.
The details: Home Depot, at 36th Street and Thomas Road in east Phoenix. From 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 1st. Bring signs, and banners, along with the essentials: water, sunglasses, and a hat, it will be warm.
Afterward, some of us are planning on distributing anti-minuteman and pro-open borders flyers at local supermarkets.
