SUPPORT NEEDED TO ADDRESS SNOWBOWL SPONSORED FILM TOUR
Arizona Toiletbowl (Snowbowl) is sponsoring a film tour of the "extreme" sport film, "Off the Grid" throughout Arizona and giving away discounted or free day passes to their ski area.
As you may already know, Snowbowl is attempting to use contaminated treated sewage effluent to make snow on 205 acres of the San Francisco Peaks. Snowbowl is planning on making a 14.8 mile pipeline to transport 1.5 million gallons of treated sewage effluent per day to a 10,000,000 gallon storage pond for snowmaking. They also want to clear cut acres of old growth.
The Peaks are also held sacred by more than 13 Native American Nations.
The Snowbowl development will desecrate the sacred mountain, contaminate the environment, the wastewater is not permitted for human consumption. Snowbowl cannot guarantee that kids will not eat the snow.
This is a great opportunity to do outreach, educate some of the folks that may recreate at Snowbowl and take action!

First off, the water is safe enough to drink, The FDA will not pass the water as drinkable, or you could bet that every state in the nation would sell it back to us. Second, the Native Americans, I feel, are making this decision based on profit, not religion. With safe water being used on the mountain, and believe me, it will be tested every day, each use, there is no reason that they should feel upset at this. It's water, and believe me the mountain needs it. If Snowbowl has snow year round, people will stop making the trip to Sunrise, cutting into the profits on the Native Americans, thus the religious argument from the Natives, they just dont want to see a profit loss from this. if it were an issue of spraying water on the mountain, they do it at Sunrise. The most I can hope for from posting this, is that you all take a minute, do the research, consider where all the information comes from, don't read just one source on each point, read several sources, I would hope you do this with all the information you find on the internet, don't jump to conclusions, we're lions not sheep, RIGHT!
