The Phoenix Anarchist Coalition continues its monthly free movie night series with "Free Voice of Labor: The Jewish Anarchists", showing at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, November 13th, at 3 Roots Coffee House in Tempe.
Come Join us Tuesday night, at 3 Roots Coffee House, 1020 S Mill Avenue in Tempe, and learn more about the development of anarchist thought in the twentieth century. The Phoenix Anarchist Coalition continues our monthly movie showings with "Free Voice of Labor: The Jewish Anarchists", directed by Steven Fischler and Joel Sucher. This 1980 documentary takes its name from a Yiddish language anarchist newspaper that was continuously published for eighty-seven years, and traces the history of anarchist activism in the twentieth century through interviews with numerous eyewitnesses and participants. As the name suggests, "Free Voice of Labor" particularly highlights the role anarchist thought played in the labor movement of the time, as well as the important contributions made by the secular Jewish community to American anarchism, from Emma Goldman to Noam Chomsky. A discussion will follow the movie.
Also, don't miss upcoming PAC movie nights: December 12th, PAC will show "Children of Men", a dystopian sci-fi thriller; and on January 8th, "On the Edge: The Femicide in Ciudad Juarez" will be shown. All movie times are 7:30 PM, and always at 3 Roots, unless otherwise noted.
