Don't miss the upcoming "Policing the Police" Training! Sheriff Joe has vowed to continue terrorizing our communities with his ongoing immigrant sweeps. One of our best weapons against this repression is our ability to monitor and document the activities of the Sheriff's Department. It is only through the hard work of volunteer observers that we can show the world what really happens during these racial profiling round-ups.
Phoenix Copwatch has nearly ten years of experience with this kind of work and is offering a training session for anyone interested in effective and legal police monitoring. Please attend this training if you are interested in engaging in copwatching activities, or if you are an organizer and want to learn how to train others to watch the cops.
Topics that will be discussed at the training include how to stay safe and avoid arrest while dealing with the police, tips for effective videotaping, documentation of police activities, and observing the police at protests.
