SPFPA Union Security Police Officer Shot at The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum

The security police professionals working at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum are members of the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) The Largest Oldest and Fastest Growing 9 (b)(3) union in the world today.
WASHINGTON -- At least three people were shot Wednesday at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, authorities said.
Authorities said at least three people have been shot at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. According to the AP, police spokeswoman Traci Hughes conveyed a person walked into the museum with a rifle and shot a security police officer. According to Hughes, the attacker was also shot. The victims' conditions were not known. Both were being taken to a hospital.
D.C. police spokeswoman Traci Hughes said a person walked into the museum at about 1 p.m. with a rifle and shot a guard. Hughes says the shooter was also shot.

SPFPA International President David L. Hickey has stated "this is a very tragic day for our members and the security police professionals who are the first line of defense against a terrorist attack and put their lives on the line each day protecting our country." Hickey also stated that our prayers go out to the security police professional who was shot and his family.
SPFPA has been at the forefront of the Employee Free Choice Act EFCA.
