Remember that Boston Tea Party thing. That tea tax was a lousy 1 ¾ percent tax on tea.

Today Arizona has a sales tax of around 8%. If George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were angry enough to overthrow the British over a lousy 1 and ¾ percent tax just think how unhappy they would be with an 8 percent sales tax.

Of course you would probably be calling George Washington and Thomas Jefferson a bunch of right wing anti-tax crackpots who should be locked up in jail and executed.

Of course when George Washington and Thomas Jefferson wrote the Constitution they wrote it so any form of income tax was unconstitutional.

Of course since then the government rulers passed the 16th Amendment which makes income tax legal and constitutional. Hell it started out as a measly 1 percent tax on rich people. Now even if you make minimum wage they shake you down for 10 percent of your income and then hit you with another 12 percent tax when you consider your share along with your employer’s share of the FICA tax.

Considering how unhappy George and Thomas were over that lousy 1 and ¾ percent tea tax they would be really angry with that 22 percent tax on income which was unconstitutional during their day. Nope you wouldn’t be partying on July 4 with George and Thomas. If they saw you they would probably want to shoot their guns at you like they did at the Redcoats.

Thomas Jefferson used to grow acres of marijuana plants, not because he was a pot head but because marijuana makes damn good rope. Of course if Thomas Jefferson were around today and growing acres of marijuana he would be arrested and locked up in prison for life as a drug trafficker.

And of course Thomas Jefferson wouldn’t be too happy with you government rulers either. He would be screaming that because of the 9th, 10th and 14th Amendment any and all drug war laws are unconstitutional and he would be saying he had a right to overthrow you just like he did to King George.

One odd thing about the American Revolution was that often the colonists were better armed then the British. The guns many Americans used for hunting shot longer and more accurate then the guns the British used. It wasn’t that the British couldn’t afford the better guns the Americans used it was their old obsolete warfare technique of getting two rows of 25 men where one row shot at the enemy while the 2nd row reloaded their flintlocks. They didn’t need accurate guns because this was their low tech equivalent of a machine gun.

Of course if George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were alive today they would have the best fully automatic weapons, anti-tank guns and rocket launchers money can buy.

Of course you people in the government probably would call George Washington and Thomas Jefferson gun running terrorist who try to hide behind bogus “Constitutional Rights”. You would be demanding that they be arrested and executed for crimes against the state.

Of course George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would be saying just want part of the 2nd Amendment don’t you understand. We wrote it to give the people the power to overthrow the government when the government becomes tyrannical.

I suspect if George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were alive today you would not be partying with them on July 4, you would want them thrown in jail as crackpot right wing anti-government terrorists who hide behind imaginary Constitutional rights.

And of course George Washington and Thomas Jefferson would consider you tyrants far worse them King George. Thomas and George would be saying you know King George wasn’t nearly as bad of a tyrant, he only hit us with a lousy 1 and ¾ percent tea tax, these jerks hit us with a 8 percent sales tax on everything and another 20 percent or so tax on income.
