It Was A Sad Day In History When The Mighty Rudio Red Passed Away.
by RR Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at 5:20 PM

It was a sad day in history when the mighty Rudio Red passed away. His love and protection of Rudio Mountain was legendary. Rudio Red loved this land of great trees, sparkling water, wildflowers, sage and wild critters. He would always stop to size up a bull elk, mule deer, antelope, wildcat, bear or mustang.

Wild things always found their way to his side. He was a great steward of the land. When the chips were down or when Rudio Red was faced with danger he never gave up he just got meaner. Everybody learned to respect Rudio Red and they soon realized that if you tried to push Rudio Red you were in for a great battle.

Now he rests in peace among wildflowers in the Old Pioneer Legends and Outlaws Cemetery and Memorial situated on a high mountain plateau in Grant County, Oregon on Rudio Mountain. We can rest assured that Rudio Red will happily continue to protect and watch over Rudio Mountain forever.
